Hello!
Although I’m feeling bitter, today is not the day I’m going to write about something I’m bitter about. Instead, I’m going to dig deep, and I mean DEEP!, past all the bitterness inside, and give props to Rio, for the great job they’re doing with the Olympics!!!! So exciting to see athletes from all over the world come to one place and compete with each other. This is one time when we can choose not to listen to, hear about, or read about all the chaos going on in the world, and concentrate instead, on the athletes and the games. That’s what I love about the Olympics: for about 2 weeks, we have a place where people from all over the world come together, in peace, with big smiles on their faces, getting along! I can’t really think of one other thing that can bring people from all over the world together in such a way as the Olympics do.
I was watching the men’s cycling races yesterday. It was hard to see the bikers that crashed along the side of the road. Yikes! Swimming relays have been exciting, as they usually are. So much talent, and boy!, can they swim fast! Crazy! And, of course, I also saw my personal favorite: volleyball. I don’t know about you, but I’d be VERY tempted to leave the court, and go hang out at the beach of Copacabana!
In addition to watching the games, I have also enjoyed hearing and learning about Rio. Such a history, and the piece on the Amazon was amazing! Every time I read or hear about the Amazon I learn something new. So interesting!
I’ll keep it short and “sweet” today. Until next time, try to watch some of the Olympics, if you haven’t already. And if you have, keep watching! Anyone else interested in going down the rapids in Whitewater Stadium?
